Following the lead of Governors in NJ, NY, and MI, MA governor launched an inter-agency task force on employee independent contractor misclassification and the underground economy. Citing studies showing millions of dollars of lost revenues to the state, the governor established goals for the agencies, to stop worker exploitation, conduct inter-agency audits and investigations, and to protect law-abiding businesses.
